What's Growin' On? Planting Healthy Lives
This 16-page Newspapers in Education supplement developed by the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is filled with activities for teachers and students--and it’s free!
A great resource to share with schools and at county fairs and farm day events, What’s Growin’ On? includes links to interactive Web sites, fun facts and activities using math, science, history and language arts concepts--all focusing on agriculture as a theme. Activities include correlations with current content standards for California public schools.
A new version of What’s Growin’ On? is created annually, and 500,000 copies are distributed across the state each year. The new sixth edition has just been printed. Subjects such as bees, olives, corn, plant health, human nutrition, gardening, pigs and much more are captured in this edition. Free classroom sets for teachers as well as complimentary single copies may be ordered from www.cfaitc.org/wgo.
