Agricultural Diesel Truck Survey
Farmer and Rancher Participation Important
“The agricultural sector is facing a requirement to replace or retrofit all agricultural diesel trucks over 14,000 gross vehicle weight and the information you provide will help us in explaining the cost of such a rule, identifying the amount of incentive funds that would be needed and the need for flexible compliance mechanisms,” said Cynthia Cory, CFBF director of environmental affairs.
“Please fill in your contact information on the form. Your name and contact information will not be shared with the ARB, but is being requested in case there are questions that need to be clarified by Farm Bureau staff,” Cory said. “If you have already sent this information to another agricultural organization, do not send it again. We only want one response from each person.”
How Your Information Will Be Used
Age and Use of Diesel Vehicles
The survey will be used to better understand the age and use of diesel vehicles employed in farming and asks for information about truck-tractors, bobtails and specialty on-road vehicles used on the farm or to transport crops, livestock, fertilizer, seed or any other farming-related goods or products.
Pollution and Clean Up Incentives
Data will also be used to answer questions from policymakers regarding how pollution from trucks used in farming compares to pollution from other trucks and how incentives or other funding sources could be used to clean up farm vehicles. The information provided will be kept by the California Farm Bureau Federation and only distributed to CARB by total amounts.
