Young Farmers & Ranchers to 'ride the wave' in Monterey

"Riding the Wave of Change" will be the theme for the next California State Young Farmers and Ranchers Leadership Conference. The annual gathering will be held March 14-16, 2008, in Monterey.
The conference, to be held at the Monterey Marriott, features a variety of continuing education and networking opportunities for agricultural professionals between the ages of 18 and 35. The agenda features agricultural tours of Monterey and San Benito counties on Friday, March 14, plus workshops, speakers, an awards banquet and other events on Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16.
Registration for the conference will begin Jan. 15. The registration fee of $150 covers meals and tour transportation.

The California Farm Bureau Federation, the state's largest farm organization, works to protect family farms and ranches on behalf of nearly 92,000 members. The Young Farmers and Ranchers program encourages members aged 18 to 35 to be active leaders in agriculture.
