As a California farmer, small-business owner and military veteran, Rep. Jeff Denham has experience completing a mission from start to finish. The California Farm Bureau Federation supports his efforts for re-election to Congress. Denham, R-Turlock, seeks to represent the 10th Congressional District, which includes Stanislaus County and southern San Joaquin County.

Through his positions on the Natural Resources Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Denham has been actively involved in issues important to California farmers and ranchers.  Farm Bureau said he also recognizes the need to assure long-term water supplies and the need to bring many interests together to find solutions that can navigate the political process.

"Jeff Denham understands the complex relationships among land use, infrastructure and a growing population," California Farm Bureau Federation President Paul Wenger said, "and he makes it a high priority to make sure California farmers can keep producing food and jobs."

Denham has led a working group among freshman House members to educate fellow members about immigration and workforce availability issues for agriculture.  He has helped educate his fellow House members from the perspective of a member who represents an area affected by difficulty in hiring enough on-farm labor.

"Jeff Denham knows that federal policies for immigration, taxes and regulations have been harmful for small businesses, including farms," Wenger said. "He has worked to reduce taxes and regulations and will continue to help the region and the state's economy to grow."

The California Farm Bureau Federation works to protect family farms and ranches on behalf of more than 74,000 members statewide and as part of a nationwide network of more than 6.2 million Farm Bureau members.
