The California Farm Bureau Federation's Board of Directors has endorsed Paul Betancourt as Republican candidate in the 31st State Assembly District.

"Paul has been involved as a leader in Fresno County Farm Bureau for many years. As a farmer, he understands the challenges of agriculture in the San Joaquin Valley," said CFBF President Bill Pauli. "He is articulate on the issues facing farmers, and he would do a great job representing his district in Sacramento."

Betancourt is a past president of the Fresno County Farm Bureau. He farms cotton near Cantua Creek in the Kerman area of Fresno County.

The 31st Assembly District extends throughout Fresno County and includes a small portion of Tulare County.

The California Farm Bureau Federation bases its endorsements on candidates' orientation on agriculture and related issues.
