Important Farm Service Agency Deadline Approaching

Published Friday, July 31, 2026
California Farm Bureau members should closely review several upcoming deadlines in August across the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency that are important.
The first is the Aug. 7 deadline to apply for the Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers program, or ASCF, which provides payments based on 2025 planted acres. Producers who previously filed an acreage report must still submit the prefilled ASCF application to remain eligible for payment. USDA has reported that many eligible specialty crop producers have not yet completed this final step.
Other upcoming deadlines include: Aug. 3: Submit nominations to serve on local FSA county committees, which help provide guidance and support to local FSA offices.
Aug. 12: Apply for the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program for qualifying 2023 and 2024 disaster losses. Producers with uninsured or non-indemnified losses should apply through Stage 2.
Aug. 31: Review base allocations for the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs.
Producers are encouraged to contact their local FSA office to ensure all required applications and documentation are submitted before the applicable deadlines.
