Assembly Revenue and Tax Committee Holds Two Agriculture Tax Credit Bills
Published Friday, May 1, 2026
Similar to the Assembly Appropriations Committee suspense file, the Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee held a hearing this week to consider bills with potential impacts to the state’s general fund.
Two agriculture-related tax credit measures were held on the committee’s suspense file. Assembly Bill 2427, authored by Assemblymember David Tangipa, R–Fresno, and AB 2192, authored by Assemblymember Jeff Gonzalez, R–Indio, would provide targeted tax relief for agricultural producers. The California Farm Bureau supported both bills. While the state continues to provide significant tax incentives to other industries, including film and television production, securing comparable relief for agriculture remains a challenge in the current fiscal environment.
