California is home to roughly one-third of all agricultural workers in the country, many of which are non-domestic workers. Despite the fact many of these workers have come in and out of the country legally on short-term visas for many years, a sensible system does not yet exist to help keep these vital contributors in the US for longer periods of time. CAFB has supported the Farm Workforce Modernization Act and other initiatives to try find a more permanent solution in order to stabilize our ag labor markets and help ensure that both farmers and workers remain in business together
